Shem Thomas – A storyteller who delves into ambivalence

Shem Thomas places storytelling at the heart of his music, crafting songs driven by personal experiences and profound themes. In "Miracle", he captures his journey beyond societal conventions, singing, "No more disguise – nowhere to run." By shedding disguises and external roles, he finds freedom and eliminates the need to escape.

Shem’s music tackles a wide range of subjects, including self-love and pressing global issues. For instance, in "Same Boat", he confronts the climate crisis, highlighting the environmental exploitation by the wealthy and powerful while emphasizing that "we’re all in the same boat."

The majority of the eight tracks on his new project were self-produced in his own studio, allowing Shem to craft an authentic and deeply personal sound. Collaborating with co-producers from around the world, he shares, "I had much more influence on the final result—not just on the melodies and lyrics, but on the production itself. That freed me up and was the most positive decision I made."
